Our newest hydrosol was steam-distilled from fresh, hand-harvested Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) growing wild in my pollinator garden at the height of summer bloom. Distilled the same day it was picked, this seasonal hydrosol carries the vibrant, herbaceous energy of the plant: balancing, cooling, and calming.

In Ayurveda, Tulsi (Holy Basil) is revered as the “Queen of Herbs” and honored in daily rituals for its ability to restore balance and vitality. Its Sanskrit name, tulasī (तुलसी), meaning “incomparable” or “peerless,” reflects the high esteem in which it’s held. With a fresh, green, and slightly spicy aroma, Tulsi is both grounding and uplifting, easing mental fatigue, clearing the mind, and encouraging a calm, focused energy.

This hydrosol begins in Wendy’s pollinator garden, where bee balm grows wild and lush at the height of summer. Each bloom is hand-harvested at peak vibrancy and steam-distilled the same day in a traditional copper still — a slow, intentional process that captures the freshest, most expressive version of the plant.

Because this hydrosol comes directly from whole, wildcrafted flowers, you may notice tiny suspended particles or a subtle shimmer. The batch is properly preserved with a gentle, plant-based ferment and refrigerated for freshness.
