Our Avoid List
Ingredients
We believe less is more when it comes to healthy skincare. Our commitment to purity means we steadfastly avoid ingredients that compromise your wellbeing or burden the environment. You'll never find synthetic preservatives, harsh chemicals, unsustainable elements, or questionable fillers in our products.
Water
HANDS Organic Skincare products are intentionally formulated without water. This eliminates the need for harsh preservatives, ensuring our formulas are as pure and clean as possible. Water-free skincare also means the potent botanicals and nourishing ingredients are highly concentrated, delivering maximum benefits directly to your skin.
high-PUFA seed oils
Oils such as sunflower, safflower, soybean, etc, contain a high concentration of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). While essential to our health in moderation, PUFAs readily oxidize on the skin when exposed to light, heat, and oxygen. This oxidation leads to the formation of free radicals, which damage skin cells and can contribute to inflammation, premature aging, and skin sensitivity.
Harsh Chemicals
We steer clear of harsh chemicals like parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and petrochemicals. These synthetic ingredients can disrupt your skin's natural barrier, leading to dryness, irritation, and potential long-term health concerns. Our commitment to clean beauty means prioritizing gentle, effective ingredients that support your skin's well-being.
Irritating Ingredients
Not all "natural" ingredients are created equal. We avoid potentially irritating substances like high concentrations of essential oils, denatured alcohol, and comedogenic oils. Our goal is to provide skincare that nourishes and soothes, not trigger sensitivities or breakouts.
Ingredients with Ethical Concerns
Our ingredient choices reflect a respect for both people and the planet. We avoid ingredients like palm oil, certain vegan waxes, and mica. These ingredients often come with hidden costs, including habitat destruction, unsustainable practices, and potential human rights violations. We believe beauty should never come at the expense of ethical principles.
Artificial ingredients
We believe in the power of nature to nourish and revitalize your skin. That's why we avoid artificial ingredients like synthetic fragrances, dyes, and fillers. These additives offer no real benefit to your skin and can even cause irritation or allergic reactions. By choosing natural alternatives, we ensure our products are gentle, safe, and effective for all skin types.
