Hands Organic Skincare does not and will not use the term "anti-aging" regarding any of our products. If the term was used in the past, it was only to describe the beneficial properties of an ingredient, not to imply we can stop time.
Words are energy. Do we want to be thinking and reading the words "anti-aging" on a regular basis? What is that telling our minds & bodies? We want to be able to age, right?
Aging: A Multifaceted Process
Research shows that the appearance of aging is influenced by a combination of internal and external factors, including genetics, diet, stress levels, UV radiation, and other lifestyle choices.
Interestingly, the “anti-aging” market was valued at around $62 billion in 2021. And as of 2023, 54% of women prefer the term “anti-aging” over alternatives.
Now, I have zero judgment for anyone who chooses that as a goal or uses targeted products or any other interventions. But I do have an issue with the marketing and societal standards that continually send the message, mainly to women, that it’s not okay to look like you’re aging. Or to just look your age.
We’ve been conditioned to think we’ll find the solution to all of this in a bottle. But aging is natural.
